One of the pillars of Thai Massage and Traditional Thai Medicine is the Thai Element Theory and the Dosas (causative factors of imbalance). A solid understanding of these principles is essential for proper assessment and effective treatment planning. By recognizing each person’s unique elemental constitution and their tendencies toward imbalance, practitioners can make more precise and supportive choices in their therapeutic approach.
When we understand our strengths and weaknesses through the lens of the elements, we can make wiser decisions—whether it’s selecting the right yoga or movement practice, choosing foods that support balance, or determining which therapeutic techniques will be most beneficial.
Class Content:
The 6 Element Model
Experiencing the elements in relation to oneself
Experiencing the elements in relation to another
The elements and their influence on therapeutic touch
The role of the elements within Thai Massage
In Traditional Thai Medicine, the physical body is understood through five fundamental layers Skin, Muscle, Sen, Bone, and Organ each belonging to the Earth Element and each offering a unique entry point into therapeutic touch. This workshop introduces practitioners to these anatomical layers and explores how they inform assessment, technique selection, and treatment planning.
This workshop explores how to approach lower back tension through the lens of Thai Massage, emphasizing presence, intelligent sequencing, and non-forceful touch. Rather than focusing on “fixing” the back, we’ll look at how to create space and a sense of safety that allows the body to soften and respond.
Drawing from traditional Thai techniques, assisted stretching, and whole-body mechanics, participants will learn a clear, adaptable pathway that addresses the lower back through grounding, hip and lateral line support, gentle traction, and integration. Attention will be given to pacing, breath, and listening hands, allowing Metta to be expressed through how we touch as much as what we do.
The workshop will include demonstration and guided partner practice, offering practical tools that can be applied to a wide range of bodies and sessions.
This workshop focuses on adapting Thai Massage techniques for diverse body types, with special attention to working skillfully and sustainably with larger, heavier, or more muscular bodies. Rather than relying on strength or effort, we’ll explore how leverage, positioning, angles, and bodyweight can create effective and compassionate touch.
Participants will learn how to modify common Thai stretches and techniques to meet the body where it is, honoring limitations while still creating space and ease. The emphasis will be on efficiency, clarity, and self-care for the practitioner, cultivating Metta not only for the receiver, but also for oneself.
Through demonstration and partner practice, this workshop offers practical strategies to build confidence, reduce strain, and bring more adaptability and kindness into one’s Thai Massage practice.
Discover the art of wrapping, rocking, and holding through the traditional textiles of Mexico and Thailand. This workshop explores the Rebozo and Pah Kao Ma as tools for bodywork, offering deep support, fluid movement, and a sense of rooted connection.
Transform your Thai Massage into a moving meditation. In this workshop, we explore the principles of biomechanics, weight transfer, rhythm, and efficient body use to create sessions that feel effortless and fluid. Learn how to “dance” around the body, reducing strain while increasing flow, sensitivity, and precision.
A gentle introduction to this beautiful form of bodywork. Wuo Tai blends spiral movements, subtle undulations, and three-dimensional mobilizations inspired by osteopathic principles. Learn how to create softness, continuity, and deep release, inviting the body into natural, effortless motion.
Techniques from a Lanna Style applied with the philosophy of energy lines to treat shoulder and neck pain.
The concept of wind and how the wind organizes in the body. Lesser important points of wind Gates, the main winds in the abdomen, and abdomen releases.
This workshop bridges the precise, gentle principles of Osteopathy with the rhythmic, mindful flow of Thai Massage to address lower back dysfunction. Participants will learn how to approach the lumbar region, pelvis, and surrounding tissues with a focus on restoring mobility, releasing deep-seated tension, and improving fluid dynamics. Through refined palpation skills and sensitive touch, we will explore how to alleviate lower back discomfort while honoring the body's natural resistance and capacity for self-regulation.
Focusing on the upper body, this session integrates Osteothai techniques to release restrictions in the cervical spine, shoulder girdle, and thoracic inlet. We will study the structural and energetic relationships that contribute to chronic neck tension and limited shoulder mobility. By combining precise osteopathic listening with the dynamic stretches and lines of Thai Massage, practitioners will gain effective, gentle tools to restore freedom of movement and ease to these highly reactive areas.
Designed for both beginners and practitioners looking to refine their roots, this workshop focuses on the core pillars of Traditional Thai Massage. We will explore the fundamental principles of body mechanics, mindful presence, and the cultivation of Metta (loving-kindness) through touch. Participants will learn essential sequences, proper weight transfer, and how to use their hands, forearms, and feet effectively to deliver a safe, deeply grounding, and transformative session.
Dive into the ancient art of Thai Foot Massage (Nuad Thao), a therapeutic practice that treats the entire body through the reflex points and energy lines of the feet and lower legs. This hands-on workshop covers the traditional use of hands, knuckles, and the wooden stick to stimulate internal organs, improve circulation, and relieve lower limb heaviness. It is a highly practical addition to any bodyworker's toolkit, offering deep relaxation and systemic balance to the receiver.
Elevate your practice by exploring the seamless intersection of dynamic floor work and therapeutic flying aesthetics. This workshop focuses on effortless transitions, continuous flow, and the intelligent use of gravity and leverage to support another body in space. Participants will learn how to move fluidly around the receiver, maintaining a continuous connection that bridges grounded bodywork with gentle, airborne decompression, creating a profound sense of trust, weightlessness, and ease.

Victor shares:
“I’ve been touched by the sacred space of Thai Massage and the Sangha for such a long time that I almost can’t trace back to when it all began.
It’s a thread that’s woven family, friendships, and meaning into my life.
Festivals and retreats gifted me with deep connection and a wider perspective of what life can be.
This time, I offer a space to celebrate and DANCE.
To bring your truth into movement, beyond words.
Dance your joy and your sorrow, your buzz and your silence. Don’t hold back—dance it all.
Maybe, through the movement, we touch who we are…
or at least what we are not.
So we can return to stillness — and touch again from there.
I am a Thai Massage Therapist and I love sharing Ecstatic Dance.
I can’t wait to join the TMS Festival crew —
to co-create a space of joy, celebration, and presence with this beautiful tribe.”
Come dance, connect, and raise your vibration with us.
Let’s celebrate life, the body, and the Sangha! 💃🏽🌈
In the language of the nervous system, stability always precedes mobility. Earth before Wind.
This session explores the therapeutic relationship between grounding and movement through the lens of Thai Element theory. When the body feels supported, contained, and safe, it naturally begins to open into more fluid and effortless motion. Without this foundation, movement often becomes compensatory rather than free.
Through hands-on practice, we will explore Earth techniques that cultivate structure, weight, and stability, inviting the body into a state of trust and receptivity. From this grounded base, we will introduce Wind techniques that mobilize, oscillate, and create space within the joints and tissues.
Participants will learn how to:
Establish stability as a therapeutic entry point
Read the body’s readiness for movement
Transition seamlessly from grounding to mobilization
Apply intelligent and effective techniques to restore natural flow
This class offers a refined approach to working with restriction and rigidity, guiding the body from effort into ease, and from holding into movement.
Fire and Water represent two essential and complementary forces within the body: fields of transformation and connection.
In this session, we explore how these elements express themselves through therapeutic touch. Fire brings warmth, intensity, and change—stimulating circulation, awakening dormant areas, and catalyzing transformation. Water, in contrast, softens, connects, and integrates, allowing the body and mind to receive, release, and harmonize.
Through guided hands-on practice, participants will experience how to skillfully work with these seemingly opposing yet deeply interdependent qualities.
Students will explore:
Fire techniques to energize, stimulate, and transform tissue
Water techniques to soothe, connect, and integrate the system
The delicate balance between intensity and receptivity in treatment
How to regulate the nervous system through contrast and rhythm
This session invites practitioners into a more nuanced, intuitive approach where listening becomes as important as doing, and where transformation arises not from force, but from the intelligent interplay of elements.
