The Neck is a vital connection between the head and the rest of the body. It is a highly mobile and sensitive area, and one that often carries the effects of stress, tension, posture and repetitive habits.
In this workshop, we explore how to work with these restrictions in a gentle, mindful and effective way.
Drawing from Thai Massage and Osteopathic principles, we will learn how to assess and work with the neck, shoulders and upper back, looking beyond symptoms to understand possible underlying causes.
The training combines theory, anatomy, demonstration and hands-on practice, giving you practical tools that you can integrate into your own bodywork practice.
During the training, we will explore:
The anatomy and movement of the neck and shoulder area
Common causes of neck and shoulder tension
Acute and chronic neck discomfort
Restrictions in the cervical spine and upper back
Muscular tension and deep muscular adhesions
Joint mobility and restrictions
The relationship between the neck, shoulders and breathing
Working with the lungs and surrounding tissues
Thai Massage techniques for releasing tension
